Some days it may not seem like such a struggle to implement lifestyle changes and stay active when you are in a comfortable routine and everything is nice and controlled. Oh if only life were so easy! The reality is that none of us live in a tightly controlled bubble where life goes as planned. Life is unpredictable, which is exciting, but often frustrating if you are committed to practicing a healthy lifestyle. We live in a world that is often not conducive to being healthy and active, and our lives are demanding.
 
We have places to go and people to see. Much of our time is spent en route, and it is up to us to figure out how to integrate physical activity into our days when we are on the go. There are many reasons that traveling sabotages even the most disciplined person’s fitness and eating goals. Your schedule is disrupted. You are surrounded by unhealthful airport food. And the weights and treadmills at your gym have been replaced by rinky dink equipment at your hotel (if you are lucky enough to have a fitness room where you are staying). The trick is to recognize these obstacles before you even pack your bags. With some forethought, research, and a commitment to the challenge, you can circumvent the unhealthy pitfalls of a life on the go. The best part of an active lifestyle is little challenges that you create for yourself along the way.
