Stress can significantly affect your health and how well you can function. It’s intuitive actually. If you have a favorite pair of shoes and you stress them by wearing them in storms on arduous hikes with drying and cleaning them when you get home, they will rapidly develop holes and leak, they would be one sick pair of shoes. The same can be said for your body. If you are running through personal storms and always on an arduous trek through the work day your mind and body will wear down rapidly.

On the flip side if you take care of your mind and body, making time for lifestyle balance and rest you will be able to start every day fresh. Just like those boots, if you tread lightly and wash them when they are dirty or scuffed they will last you a long time and in good shape.

Taking care of your body and developing healthful coping mechanisms for the stressors that will inevitably pop up in your life is crucial to maintaining your mental and physical health.
