Movement meditation is using both the mind and movement to reach a clam, contemplative place. It combines movement and the natural deep breathing that occurs with these movements to guide the practitioner into a more peaceful and tranquil place. Moving meditation includes a wide range of technique and pretty much any movement can be performed as a meditation, as long as you are mindful of every movement and breath.

Movement meditation can be great for those who suffer from aches and pains such as sore knees as it is a great way to move slowly while paying careful attention to how you feel. It is also good for those who have a lot of energy; moving meditation is a productive alternative to stationary meditation and can bring you to the same calm place while getting the blood flowing.

Some form of movement mediation practices such as Tai Chi are seated in  tradition, and other more freestyle movement mediation practices are organic and deeply personal to the person practicing. There is no right or wrong way to perform movement mediation; you just have to fin d what is right for you.
