Cooking w/ Kids  > Sneak Attack    Printable Version

Many kids need to eat better, meaning they need to reduce the amount of processed and packaged food they eat and increase the amount of fresh and whole foods they eat. Foods like whole grains, fruits and vegetables. The best way you can get your children to eat healthfully is to provide them with great food and teach by example. It’s likely you’ve heard this message before and are trying your best to get your kids to eat better every chance you get.

The hard part can be that despite all your best efforts, your son or daughter is going through a phase wherein he or she is outright refusing certain healthful foods. You try to explain that this or that vegetable will help her grow up big and strong, but she’ll have none of it. It’s times like this that require…the sneak attack. Sneaking extra nutrition into food you know your children love is a great way to augment their diet with fiber, vitamins and minerals a growing body needs. While resorting to sneaking in all healthful food is not a way to teach nutrition basics, it can be a great way to give your child what’s best for her health.
