Every magazine seems to have a section dedicated to extolling the virtues of exercise. And for good reason, exercise can help you maintain your weight and prevent a myriad of diseases. However, it seems that there is always a funky new way of doing a traditional exercise. The pretzel twist and the head rush combo don’t even sound like fun, let alone like they are good for you. Exercise should be enjoyable and used to maintain good health both physical and mental. The best exercise program for you is one that you will stick to and enjoy doing.
And the same goes for all the gadgets and gear. It seems there is a fix-it or a help-it for everything you can imagine. There are shoes that tone your butt, watches that monitor your heart rate and electronics for activities you can’t even pronounce. Determining what gear and gadgets you need is a matter of choice and personal goals. Rest assured though, you do not need to have the latest and greatest piece of equipment to reap the benefits of exercise.
Choosing both the type of exercise and the gear that goes with it should always come down to fun. The exercises you pick should be activities you enjoy doing (at least most of the time) and is something you can maintain.
